Honestly, Apple's claims are overblown and hyperbolic, but they did manage to get A9MP designs into the wild before their competitors, (Tegra and Snapdragon use A8 cores) so they do have reason to be proud of the SoC they've created. Further, contrary to what you seem to believe there must be *some* Apple designed silicon in there... how do you propose they connected the discrete units together? solder? string? shoelaces?
