Was I one of those? I don't seem to remember. I think I defended Oracle and gave them the benefit of the doubt.
IMHO, Oracle has acted similar to Sun under McNeally. I really liked Johnathon Swartz, the guy that opened everything up. I wouldn't have been surprised at anything Oracle is now doing if it had been done under him.
This Java collaboration is more about sustaining Java, than it is about open source. Open JDK was the official Java source code, and pretty much is now too.
