Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu Finally. Finally the leader of a major distribution who has the guts to stand up and say what a lot of people have known for a long time, but didn't dare to say because it usually leads to a storm of criticism. Mark Shuttleworth has announced that Ubuntu will be moving away from X.org, opting to go with Wayland instead.

Hearing this kind of thing makes me happy. Yet it also makes me sad since I don't feel Linux distro's aren't any better than say Redhat7 or Slackware8.

There is definately a lot of work that is being done that is making it better and better. But I think I will be 80 years old before Linuxes will be where I want them today.

Note: I used the word "feel" above, not saying that there hasn't been any progress.
