Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu Finally. Finally the leader of a major distribution who has the guts to stand up and say what a lot of people have known for a long time, but didn't dare to say because it usually leads to a storm of criticism. X has been one of the most annoying things to deal with in my decade's worth of Linux usage. I'm glad they're going for the gradual shift, sudden huge changes that are premature are always suicide. For people who really want Network Transp.... whatever, they still can, it's OSS and they can put on whatever they like. For too long desktop code/solutions have been ignored in favour of networking/admin solutions.
