Graphics, User Interfaces As an answer to someone asking whether Unity will require a working OpenGL stack to operate in Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal", Mark Shuttleworth announced that Canonical would offer an optional, QT-based, "2D" implementation of Unity. Here is a video, too.

Probably not. This is Ubuntu after all. The sun and moon rise and set on the shoulders of Mark Shuttleworth. Just ask any Ubuntu fan. When KDE shakes up the desktop with something new, it's a deemed a disaster and a travesty. When Canonical does it, it's brilliant and innovating. c.c C.C
