Graphics, User Interfaces As an answer to someone asking whether Unity will require a working OpenGL stack to operate in Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal", Mark Shuttleworth announced that Canonical would offer an optional, QT-based, "2D" implementation of Unity. Here is a video, too.

What I think is more stupid is that they rely on Mac OS X to get the work done for Linux - that should be setting off alarm bells to the developers that maybe they should address the lack of tools which force the people to use Mac OS X to do graphics work for Linux instead of it being natively done on Linux.

Reminds me of Sun trying to get people to use their software but all the work at Sun is being done on Windows and Mac OS X computers. It really destroys your credibility to say to the market to do one thing and all the functions of your business use your competitors products.
