Apple "A new report suggests that Apple may be planning to eliminate retail boxed software from its Apple Stores, instead focusing on promoting the Mac App Store for software sales. Logic Pro comes on 9 DVDs. I don't think they'll want you to download that somehow.

OTOH Apple have been quite explicit that only some software is *not* sold via the App store, things like Betas are not allowed on it.
