Well, that's just an opinion.

To me having the same API and library compatibility is having the same OS. The fact that it has *more/different* things is a bonus...
CentOS and Scientific Linux are RedHat distros... aren't they?
In the end:
1- for you is not meego -> great
2- for me it is meego -> also great
