Mozilla & Gecko clones Mozilla has released Firefox 7. Unlike releases of Firefox 5 and Firefox 6 which were relatively minor upgrades to the browser, Firefox 7 includes a number of significant improvements, most important of which is probably the drastically reduced memory usage.

They should just add "1." at the beginning of the version number, then everyone worried about version creep can settle down. Of course that means they should also deploy the update as an update and not a full version.

I dislike the removal of http. Now when I leave, come back, look at the address bar and see a hostname, I have to think, hmmm what am I looking at. Lets see, this is Firefox, ohh right, it only hides parts of the URL when it's http traffic, and I don't see http, so it must be http (not https or something else.) It's like only hiding certain file extensions. I beg for consistent behavior.
