As Pinchefsky writes: "...It got me thinking about awesome technology that we somehow ditched. The airship? Awesome. Slide rules? Awesome awesome. Mir Space Station? Boss-level awesome. And now just thinking about wristwatches with calculators makes me suffer a sense of short-term nostalgia (as in Douglas Coupland's Generation X). Hypercard may have gone away, but Director was basically its replacement. It basically took the card stack and changed it into a sequence of film frames. Most of the technology was eventually added to flash, but there are still a lot of people doing stuff with Director. Lost of shockwave games still out there too.
