BSD and Darwin derivatives Adrian Chadd is the current FreeBSD net80211/ath driver maintainer and developer. He's been working with a few others to get usable 802.11n support into FreeBSD. We thought we'd have a quick chat and ask how things are going.

802.11n on FreeBSD has been possible for at least two years now with the iwn driver (imported from OpenBSD). It was added in the buildup to 8.1, but there was a backport to the 7.x series. I think it's awesome that the Atheros people are working closely with Adrian to write this driver; as others have pointed out this work goes far beyond just the FreeBSD ecosystem. Thanks guys for your hard work.
