It might get too far, but if its funny for the moment, why not? In the end the guy throwing with the cranberries has to deal with the consequences and its up to him if it was worth the swollen eye (and sometimes it is).

And what consequences does one hiding in anonymity face? They're just going to be destructive without consequence. So, I guess the analogy only holds if the cranberry chuckers actually have to deal with the consequences.
