Fair enough Alfman. Yes at first glance one could easily think the Anomos atorrent client handling is quite similar to that of Tor.
Like what Tribler is trying to accomplish, Anomos operates in a decentralized tracker/peer fashion which address's the current police state locate, smash and grab on centralized torrent tracking servers.
Like Vuze's Swarmstream, Anomos also haystacks torrent streams which makes it a headache to discern content and orgins.
Unlike Tribler, uTorrent, Deluge, Transmission and Vuze torrent handlers, Anomos also encrypts the actual files, not just the connection and they are decrypted on the receiving end on the fly. ANYONE obtaining a small encrypted snippet of a much larger file would not be able to claim xyz in any logical nor legal fashion, it would in fact be identical to a randomized data stream. Agency's demanding proxy server logs wouldn't find any torrent peers IP's listed on them if users had used Anomos atorrent clients.
IF proxy (Push-Pull Mode) servers cached small parts of the Anomos encrypted atorrent files, again those encrypted snippets would not yield anything that would/could be found to be more than a randomized data stream. IF the proxy server had no means to locally decrypt that atorrent data stream themselves you have a legal in my opinion and entirely plausible deniability which ultimately and effectively shifts the burden of proof off of proxy server owners.
What I would like to see is a Anomos Plug-In available for Transmission, Vuze and the Deluge torrent clients. If Anomos is lacking anything, it is widespread use and hence bit torrent popularity. If anything the recent loss of multiple centralized torrent trackers around the world could end-up Alfman in bringing that to pass just as it is now driving the Tribler project.
