The thing is just because Oracle are being a bunch of douches, it does not meant that Microsoft are the "good guys" by a long shot.
Just like any other mega corporation Microsoft are very very very aggressive when it comes to defend their patents, copyrights, trademarks, and even APIs.
There are no "white knights" when it comes to organizations whose only reason to exist is to turn a profit.
