First of all, a right was given by (surprise) UN.
Second, this land which is now Israel (or vast majority of it) never been Arab. Big part of Israel territory was bought by various Jewish organizations years before Israel was created. In fact, some parts of the bought lands belong now to Jordan, due to a way Palestine was partitioned. In any way, Israel got its land from its (lands) former sovereign - the British, which in turn conquered it during WWI from its previous sovereign - Ottomans and got a specific mandate from League of Nations for creating a "Jewish National Home" in Palestine. Anyway, there never been an Arab State on the current Israel territory for at least 500 years.
