PDAs, Cellphones, Wireless In light of the jury verdict in Apple vs. Samsung, the one-liners and jokes flew back and forth. One in particular, by Dan Frakes, has been copied and pasted all over the web, and it goes like this: "When the iPhone debuted, it was widely criticized for having no buttons/keys. Now people think the iPhone's design is 'obvious'." This is a very common trend in this entire debate that saddens me to no end: the iPhone is being compared to simple feature phones, while in fact, it should be compared to its true predecessor: the PDA. PDAs have always done with few buttons.

Hard to tell that you are that old really from your posts.

Saddens me to see that you don't care and that you truly believe that it is now said and done.

I don't live in the past, I simply will not forget it. It influences our here and now and helps us to better create a future. I embrace the future of technology daily, and I can give you as many examples of those professionals as you that do to your's that don't.

I look forward to owning a Microsoft Surface though I will not be running Windows 8 on my desktop. I will be receiving my Raspberry Pi soon, and I am very excited about it because it does represent that 'past' you seem to want to trade in on and deny. It is open. It is freedom. And it gets kids and adults programming again.

No I won't get over it. Program or be programmed as Ruskoff correctly wrote. Good luck with your choice.

I don't have a problem with anything you said. And I don't have a problem with people who want to see the reality of the past, find the truth, take a different path etc. I love reading and learning about things like the Lilth etc. My issue is when the reason you are showing the past is to bash the present.

For instance my screen name is "Windows Sucks" because I don't particularly like MS Windows. But I don't then go on every MS post on the site and bash Windows and MS, its my opinion and you can see from my screen name my opinion but I am sure that no one wants to hear it from me on every post.

If you want to show me the past and PDA's and how they relate to today's tech, that's fine, when it becomes a bash Apple exercise then I take a little offense to it. Same as I would if it was all bashing Google or all bashing MS.
