Yes. Do you want more examples?
Many of todays programming languages: Python, PHP, Haskell, Erlang, Ruby, D, Caml etc etc.
Stuff that powers the internet: nginx, apache, lighttpd, varnish, RoR, tomcat, jetty etc etc.
The list goes on.
