Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu Mark Shuttleworth: "I simply have zero interest in the crowd who wants to be different. Leet. 'Linux is supposed to be hard so it's exclusive' is just the dumbest thing that a smart person could say." He's right. Lots of interesting insights in this blog post - I may not agree with everything Ubuntu does, but at least it's doing something.

But what does that have to do with rolling releases? What does that have to do with display servers like Mir, Wayland, and x11? The technical details of all of the above is not relevant to the novice which isn't going to know which technologies are in play. The details are invisible to them as they should be.

Being right about elitism=bullying=wrong doesn't automatically make you right about everything else. It really feels like he's deliberately trying to throw the conversation off topic.

It's amazing people keep falling for this kind of thing.
