Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu Mark Shuttleworth: "I simply have zero interest in the crowd who wants to be different. Leet. 'Linux is supposed to be hard so it's exclusive' is just the dumbest thing that a smart person could say." He's right. Lots of interesting insights in this blog post - I may not agree with everything Ubuntu does, but at least it's doing something.

You say user-driven, but where are the users for Mint or Linux in general? Desktop Linux has failed, seeing this, Canonical has decided to try to create something that can change that situation. Linux Mint is for people who resist change at all costs, they have essentially recreated Windows 95 out of a modern desktop - its underpinnings are still essentially Gnome Shell.

Wrong-O. Gnome3,Unity and Windows 8 and the rest of that ilk are *NOT* Modern Desktops/OS's.

They are piles of reeking crap meant for asshat's like yourself who are too f*cking stupid to turn off a computer when you're *NOT* using it.
