In the News If you don't live in the US, this is a pretty common source of irritation: US companies charging crazy markups on products sold in Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and the rest of the world. The Australian government has had enough of this practice, and started an inquiry into the matter. Yesterday (or today? Timezones confuse me) Apple, Microsoft, and Adobe had to answer questions in a public hearing.

I think you're missing the point - you are in the tiny tiny minority who even know, let alone care that your device can do those things.

Apple don't just take a cut by the way, that money is used to benefit the developers by including their apps in advertising, and by keeping the overall quality within the App Store high. I have both Android and Apple devices, and the App Store is streets ahead of any of the Android based ones.
