Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu Ubuntu 13.04 has been released, with the Linux 3.8.8 kernel, a faster and less resource hungry Unity desktop, LibreOffice 4.0, and much more. Ubuntu users will know where to get it, and you're looking for a new installation, have fun. Also fun: UbuntuKylin.

Although VMware does work extensively with Canonical, it is not their, or the Ubuntu volunteers job to ensure that our product works. It's VMware's job. As I stated above, we do endeavour to support Linux and try to keep WS and Player compatibility as up to date as possible while at the same time adhering to our own release schedule. We do have an experimental setting in our install that will attempt to automatically rebuild new modules on kernel upgrade, but it does depend on having a sane build environment. Hope this is helpful.
