Windows "Windows is indeed slower than other operating systems in many scenarios, and the gap is worsening." That's one way to start an insider explanation of why Windows' performance isn't up to snuff. Written by someone who actually contributes code to the Windows NT kernel, the comment on Hacker News, later deleted but reposted with permission on Marc Bevand's blog, paints a very dreary picture of the state of Windows development. The root issue? Think of how Linux is developed, and you'll know the answer.

"You also forgot to notice that windows xp is going to become unsupported soon."

Oh my god... after 13+ years? How dare Microsoft do such a thing!?! Let's start the MS hate bandwagon right now! Just one question dude, what is the longest support a main-stream Linux distro gets? LOL Also, you may have noticed that MS has an OS called Windows 7. Spend a few bucks, it will be supported for quite a bit longer than any Linux distro will.

Microsoft wanted Windows XP dead years ago, but they couldn't kill it off because of Linux and that pesky netbook fad several years ago. Never mind the atrocity that was Vista, which wouldn't even run on the damn things. If Microsoft had their way, everyone would have jumped off of XP like fleas leaving a dead animal, but practically no one wanted to run that dud, to the point where Microsoft had to introduce downgrade rights (great way to cheat the OS market share statistics). The Linux distribution family with the longest support is probably Red Hat Enterprise Linux and its derivatives. Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 have a support lifecycle that spans a full decade of production phase, followed by three years of extended life. That's 13 years. Try again.

And that's all I am going to waste my time responding to. Your comments are so absurd, I have to wonder if you are going for the "Internet's Biggest Troll" award. You posts are sea after sea of pure, 100% bullshit. I have a hard time believing that even you believe what you're saying, and I can't believe people are wasting so much energy getting into such heated arguments with you. Seems like a lost cause to me.
