Linux I volunteer as tech support for a small organization. For years we relied on Ubuntu on our desktops, but the users didn't like it when Ubuntu switched to the Unity interface. This article tells about our search for a replacement and why we decided on Xfce running atop Linux Mint.

I actually like Unity for the most part. It's the right combination of originality, also borrowing from OS X and Windows where appropriate. What I don't like are other tings about Ubuntu, e.g. the Amazon searching by default, as well as the fact that Canonical seem to have an issue actually making a stable system most of the time. 13.04 is their first stable release for me in a long, long while, which I find amusing as 12.04 is the LTS release that crashed on me constantly.
