Linux I volunteer as tech support for a small organization. For years we relied on Ubuntu on our desktops, but the users didn't like it when Ubuntu switched to the Unity interface. This article tells about our search for a replacement and why we decided on Xfce running atop Linux Mint.

Based on the context of his whole comment, It seems pretty obvious to me that when he said "Linux is getting there", he meant "good enough to fulfill my needs".

What he actually said was, "Linux is getting there but it isn't there yet. In the meantime, MS is getting left behind in ever so many ways." That sure doesn't sound like he's referring to his needs, but rather in general as a blanket statement. Making the claim isn't good enough, make your case instead.

Anyway, the rest of his claims are pretty straightforward: Windows 7 is not very suitable for his needs. Since you're calling them unconvincing, I guess you know his needs better than he does?

...No, of course not. While he did reference his needs, he also makes sweeping comments. I suppose you thought ignoring that would lend more to your own comments. But, no.
