Personally, I'd rather be more conservative. Let's be realistic: radical changes are rarely acceptable to existing users. Many exisiting users would be put off if KDE 4 suddenly changed all UI elements and rearranged all of the preference... Expect it to be more of an evolution rather than a revolution.
