I'm already running compiz and Xgl on my GeForce 2 Go with a Pentium 3 M. Trying to watch movies and shit like that is totally unusable (it skips a bit, totally unusable might be a little extreme), but the actual desktop affects like the wobbly windows are actually smooth... dragging windows around the desktop is actually smoother than before. I tried even loading up a TON of windows and using stuff like the expose and cube feature constantly. Occasionally, it will skip around when doing those effects, but for the most part, its still pretty smooth. The only issue is the nvidia driver in Xgl is a little bit buggy, I get some artifacts all around my desktop, especially with Firefox for some reason.
