That does it. I've sent off an email to Thom, and I've officially quit this site. Idiots from top to bottom abusing the moderation system, lack of English comprehension when replying by some members, and worse, a lack of 'balls' to engage in a debate and instead 'fly by night' moderate'. I've had people in the past go, "well, you shouldn't worry too much" - well, I'm not worrying, but I am not going to hang around in a forum filled with idiots who can't hold a decent conversation for more than 5 minutes without resorting to name calling, company bashing and avoiding the issue. Good bye, and good luck. Osnews.com used to be the haven from the stupidity on Kryo5hin and Slashdot, now it is has decended into nothing more than a pathetic concoction of digg crossed with boingboing. I've had a look at my 'good posts vs. Bad post' and I can tell you that there is a concerted effort over the last 2 weeks by people to moderate my posts down - no matter what I put in them.

The Tizen Greek Community has some screenshots of a very recent build of Tizen running on a Samsung GT-i8800. It looks wholly unremarkable.

Joint statement to The Next Web from Microsoft and Google: "Microsoft and YouTube are working together to update the new YouTube for Windows Phone app to enable compliance with YouTube's API terms of service, including enabling ads, in the coming weeks. Microsoft will replace the existing YouTube app in Windows Phone Store with the previous version during this time." Good to know these children stopped acting like little pricks. Can we have full Google support in Windows 8 now, please?

Yahoo is acquiring Tumblr, the microblogging and social networking website, for $1.1 billion USD. Tumblr offers little revenue but lots of eyeballs if Yahoo can monetarize them. Now Yahoo is bidding for Hulu, the streaming video service. After years of ineffective responses while Google, Facebook, and others took large chunks of the online advertising market, Yahoo is fighting back. Can Yahoo reignite the momentum it had at the turn of the century? What do you think?

In several places around the web, the company is replacing the existing 'Talk' platform with a new one called 'Hangouts' that sharply diminishes support for the open messaging protocol known as XMPP (or sometimes informally Jabber), and also removes the option to disable the archiving of all chat communications. "Sony gave the PS4 50% more raw shader performance, plain and simple (768 SPs @ 800MHz vs. 1152 SPs & 800MHz). Unlike last generation, you don't need to be some sort of Jedi to extract the PS4's potential here. The Xbox One and PS4 architectures are quite similar, Sony just has more hardware under the hood. Weâll have to wait and see how this hardware delta gets exposed in games over time, but the gap is definitely there. The funny thing about game consoles is that itâs usually the lowest common denominator that determines the bulk of the experience across all platforms. On the plus side, the Xbox One should enjoy better power/thermal characteristics compared to the PlayStation 4. I think it's highly likely that you were being "victimized" by people who were abusing our moderation system by using up their points to mod down anything you said, just to get your goat. Unfortunately for all of us, you gave them everything they wanted. They wanted to get under your skin and make you have a public blowup, and you wrapped it up with a bow and gave it to them.
Let me just say that, for the record, the better course of action would have been to remain calm and try to contact OSNews staff to see if we could be enlisted in an effort to root out these moderation abusers. It might have taken some persistence. Not because we don't care (we do, and we've considered you a valuable member of the community) but because we all have other jobs and we're busy.
Now, Thom and Adam might be more piqued about this than I am, because I haven't been paying attention until today. But I think it's safe to say that we can all empathize with your emotional state and can understand the temptation to have an outburst and lash out at innocent bystanders. Once you've cooled off, I'd invite you to contact us and see if we can't come up with a constructive solution to this whole mess.
