Original OSNews Interviews Today we feature a very interesting interview with Havoc Pennington. Havoc works for Red Hat, he is heading the desktop team, while he is well known also for his major contributions to GNOME, his GTK+ programming book, plus the freedesktop.org initiative which aims to standardize the X11 desktop environments. In the following interview we discuss about the changes inside Red Hat, Xouvert, freedesktop.org and Gnome's future, and how Linux, in general, is doing in the desktop market.

As I was reading the interview I was thinking the same thing ;)

Havoc you should give some modelling pictures to Eugenia next time where you do Zoolander things.

Honestly I think Eugenia did it for those people who scream, give us the screenshots. Only this time it was portraits.

About the file selector mentioned on page one, I think it should say it will be included in GTK 2.4, at first I thought GNOME 2.4 but I think I heard it would be introduced in GNOME 2.6.

Also I could from reading the article that the comments would be centered around X 3D stuff, and you want to know why, because it needs to be improved, and the only 2-3 people that will be able to do it are the people already working in the Xfree86 project. Last I heard they were knowledgable in all things X.

Another thought what about game developers, I hope they would be interested in having a look into it.
