"640K ought to be enough for anybody." Bill Gates, 1981. "64 bit is coming to desktops, there is no doubt about that, But apart from Photoshop, I can't think of desktop applications where you would need more than 4 gigabytes of physical memory, which is what you have to have in order to benefit from this technology." It seems to me that by the time it ships, Longhorn will need 4 gigs of RAM.

those users that love classic are mostly the old codger group who HATE change. forget that OS X has a better multitasking ability...a better memory management system, is 10,000 times more stable, and runs just as well as OS 9 on g3 systems (talking of panther here).
OS X is as much a better system to classic Mac OS as XP/2000 is to win 3.1/9x/NT 4.
the apps are not there yet..well perhaps they should put more pressure on the companies to make them!! I mean, these companies have has over 3 years to port their applications to OS X, Apple even gave them a nice easy rout with Carbon until they could make a Coaca version.
