that would be a bad idea. it would help microsoft and palm because the partners of symbian would be less inclined to support symbian. symbian would truly become nokia as microsoft has claimed so long.
then again when you have 40% of the phone market you don't really need much support. Nokia can make symbian a standard without anyone.
