You are losing the point people. Nobody is saying using transparent windows, EVEN OSX took out their transparent unfocused windows!! The point is that there are applications and usages for full transparency support that WHEN an application needs it, it WILL be there! It is a feature to be used by some apps that NEED it, that doesn't mean that Gnome and KDE will have transparent windows all the time!
