OSNews, Generic OSes I find myself using a number of OSes daily but for the OSes I use most, I have some favorite third party applications that I can't live without. Here are my application lists for Windows, Unix/Linux, Mac OS X and BeOS; applications I always download and install after a clean OS installation. Please tell us about your favorite third party apps you use on different OSes by using the provided comment section.

Gnumeric and GnuCash

I'm glad that Abiword got a mention, but you missed out some other important ones:

Gnumeric, probably the best spreadsheet application in the world.

GnuCash, probably one on of the most comprehensive financial applications in the world (and I'm really looking forward to the imminent Gtk2 updates).

There are many others for Linux... some more obvious, some fairly subtle:

Screen, Rhythmbox, Vim, gThumb, Straw, and more.

On a final note, with the availability of Gimp for Windows, I wouldn't have included Paint Shop Pro.
