VSYNC
by Don Cox on Tue 2nd Jul 2002 08:17 UTC

"Of course, the smoothness of VSYNC is not very visible on LCD's, but
it makes a whole lot of difference on CRTs! "

It was always used on Amigas and is one of the reasons the GUI looked
smooth even on what by modern standards is a slow computer. The Amiga
graphics chips on the motherboard generate an interrupt on vertical
sync.
