That's a very good question. Yes, Access can front a MySql db, though what would be the point, Access alone is so much simpler. So where is an open source solution?

The closest so far may be Rekall, built on QT: http://www.rekallrevealed.org - but it seems they are still in an early stage of development.

I think in the ideal world, if Corel ever opensourced the Paradox database, that would be outstanding, and would become incredibly widespread.

By the way, what has happened to Paradox lately, is Corel even still making new versions?
