Apple Fourteen months ago I wrote an editorial, suggesting that Apple should create an ultra cheap machine to battle the PC world. On that article, I suggested some specs for the hypothetical "Strawberry" computer. As technology is moving on fast, I am now updating these specs. To get the idea though, please make sure you read last year's article before you read on this one.

I think it could be a major hit for Apple

Eugenia, personally I think this could be a way for Apple to get more market share, more mind share, and reconquer some of the luster they have lost.

Two things:

1) At $299 sales price, the margins would be too slim. Apple would even lose money for each CPU sold. So, no go at that price level.

2) 2.5" hard disk. 20GB is good enough (1 platter, 1 head).

Keep this idea alive... it's a good one.
