Linux ELX(Everyone's Linux), is a Linux focused company based in India. ELX's first product, ELX Power Desktop, received very good reviews during its early stages but for the past several months, the product has been very quiet.

text based installer and community

"Can you point me how to initiate the text based installation. "

thats easy. same as redhat

type in "linux text" during the initial boot prompt from the first cd

"This review was very...thin on any sort of details"

well.the fact that developers were very active in the community is a direct way was a big attraction at that time. not anymore

"but it is also a bit open to exploitation by companies who seek to build communities around their particular distributions, or to put it more blindly, get a bunch of developers developing their distribution for free and then selling it back to them to make money. "

it would only work when developers get something out of the distro. if they dont they wouldnt volunteer. if they do get back something then you have nothing to complain about.
