What the hell are you babbling about? Arch is written from scratch, mostly by one guy. Arch is not a rip off like most other distros that are based on RH(rpm) or Debian(apt).
ABS, Pacman and Makepkg, is a few thousand lines of C. There are currently around 20 package maintainers that are keeping this distro up to date and there is coding beeing done on splitting Pacman up in library/frontend.
This distro is trashing most other distros on the market if you compare speed and stability. And it's very easy to use if you know, or are willing to learn how Linux works without GUI tools.
