Linspire I decided to write this review to provide a quick inside to the new Linspire 5.0 released on March 15th, 2005. The review will determine the use of Linspire 5.0 in a SOHO (Small Office Home Office) Environment. The download was free for me since I'm a current CNR subscriber. UPDATE: Another Linspire review, and the Linspire 5.0 Live CD is now available for free download.

SOHO

"In a very extensive survey of my house, 100% of the poeple that have a business related use for their computer, need at least 1 of those programs. OK, so the survey only included one person so isn't statistically valid, but do you have any data to back up your assertation that those programs aren't needed by most SOHO users."

Well, nobody in my house uses it so that is 1 (you) out of two. I support a few out of home businesses and none of them use that software. Everything they use is sales/contact type software plus e-mail, ... that kind of thing. But they do no graphics other than importing pictures or pre-existing clipart/graphics into documents. None of which they manipulate other than getting red eye out, etc.. One person is a real estate agent. Again, doesn't use any graphics manipulation programs. This is a side business for me and there are 7 I support. All of them use Macs by the way. My pre-requisite for supporting them. Maybe Linux in the future but if they get Windows they get no more support from me. Too many headaches I don't need.
