Slackware, Slax "I have very mixed feelings about this release of Slackware. I do not think that the underlying philosophy of Slackware is obsolete. The concept of a system that can be configured and molded to the n'th degree is still in my opinion very much a good idea. However, this release of Slackware is not without its problems in execution." Read the review here.

Slackware is past for me

I have moved to Arch Linux. It's a lot like Slackware in most ways, but more bleeding edge. It's not as stable as Slackware though. If this gets worked out as well some speed up of pacman, Arch would be a better solution to the kinda-neglected Slackware today. It's only so much that a single person can do supporting and maintaining all these packages and their increasing complexity.
