Slackware, Slax "I have very mixed feelings about this release of Slackware. I do not think that the underlying philosophy of Slackware is obsolete. The concept of a system that can be configured and molded to the n'th degree is still in my opinion very much a good idea. However, this release of Slackware is not without its problems in execution." Read the review here.

re: odd bug

Mandrake (8.2 - 10.0) had a problem with USB ports where I had to make sure the keyboard was in the first USB slot or Mandrake would not detect it at boot.

I run Slackware-current and the only USB oddity I have is that when I have a USB mouse plugged into my laptop, the system does not see one of my usb-drives. (The other USB drive has no problems). I have to unplug my USB mouse, plug in the usb-drive, then re-plug in my USB mouse. Then everything works fine.
