Slackware, Slax "I have very mixed feelings about this release of Slackware. I do not think that the underlying philosophy of Slackware is obsolete. The concept of a system that can be configured and molded to the n'th degree is still in my opinion very much a good idea. However, this release of Slackware is not without its problems in execution." Read the review here.

Don’t you love how the Arch fanboys always have to post and tell you how much better their distro is? And if you look back at the comments to this review, you will see that none of the Slackers brought up Arch – it was Eugenia, who certainly qualifies as an Arch “fanboy” (or is it “fangirl”?) these days since she takes every opportunity to tell you how much better Arch is. And then “ex-slacker” picks it up and runs with it. It used to be the Gentoo fanboys, then the Yoper fanboys (remember them?), and how it’s the Ubuntu and Arch fanboys. You never see Slackware users post in a thread about Ubuntu, for example, how Slackware is better. That’s because we don’t need to go around telling everyone how much our distro is better than your distro.

These Distros Of The Week come and go but Slackware just keeps on truckin’.
