Those days have passed and the question is, why you should use Solaris instead of a modern operating system, especially if we're talking about the x86.

You sir, must be a bonified ignoramus if you fail to see how Solaris is miles ahead of other Unix and Unix-like operating systems on the market. I would actaully go as far as saying Solaris at the moment is the only OS on the market that smells of true technological innovation and your comparison to BSD is just plain idiotic. I don't see how you even qualify to give any fair review to Solaris -- you don't understand what's behind the hood, but you don't hesitate to make some really far fetched and ignorant references. May be you should be rather reviewing how cool icons/themes are in distro X compare to distro Y or whatever you Linux fanboy love to chat about. Leave reviews of more serious stuff like Solaris to more qualified people. It actaully kind of revolts me that garbage like this is being posted on this side, wake the hell up Eugenia!!!
