
Gentoo, Lindows and Lycoris arguably were the big surprises of the year in the Linux land, but everyone is waiting the release of
Red Hat 8.0 with, possibly, the biggest anticipation ever for a Linux distribution. Since Red Hat posted the Limbo and Null betas, fans of the most popular distribution on earth were making waves and even called this new version a Windows killer. Does this really hold up though? You're a bit off on the nvidia card bit. NVIDIA is the number one selling graphics card among enthusiasts today. If its stability was as bad as you say, *someone* besides you would have seen it. If it was as epidemic as you imply, Anand or Tom or Sharky would have mentioned it by now, at SOME point. But they haven't, so I'd take it that its not. Personally, I've never had a single problem with them. Sure its a matter of personal experience, you vs me, but I've got the advantage that most people seem to have had the same experience as I have.
