Red Hat I know what you're thinking, but don't worry. This article isn't 'Yet Another Red Hat 8.0 Review'. This article is primarily about using Red Hat 8.0 if you happen to be a newbie, but it's also about using Red Hat 8.0 if you happen to be a KDE user. Why? I happen to be a KDE user, so it makes sense I'd focus more on what I know the most about. Plus, I still remember the frustration of staring with something akin to terror at a blank command line with lots of ideas about what I'd like to do and very little knowledge of how to do it.

Collection of ideas

It has become apparent to me that Red Hat 8 has really set off fireworks. To me, RH 8 is a Linux watershed event. Now, please, don't take that as flamebait - I am in favor of all Linux distros and would be horrified if there were not distros of all stripes for all types of Linux users. I just ordered Vector Linux to help support them. But, I think RH has achieved a milestone for Linux on the corporate desktop and perhaps even the personal desktop.

Anyway, my whole point is to second the motion of collecting ideas for improving RH 8 and sending them in. We have three main sources - Eugenia's overall review, my Joe User review and Rob's review that he obviously spent an enormous amount of time on. And, I don't mean just the reviews, but the hundreds of comments that sprang from them. LOL, I'm not exactly sure how this would be would be time consuming for sure...but I think this is a big deal and it would be fun to send a report to Red Hat acknowledging their achievement yet supplying many outstanding suggestions. OSNews with clout!!
