Red Hat I know what you're thinking, but don't worry. This article isn't 'Yet Another Red Hat 8.0 Review'. This article is primarily about using Red Hat 8.0 if you happen to be a newbie, but it's also about using Red Hat 8.0 if you happen to be a KDE user. Why? I happen to be a KDE user, so it makes sense I'd focus more on what I know the most about. Plus, I still remember the frustration of staring with something akin to terror at a blank command line with lots of ideas about what I'd like to do and very little knowledge of how to do it.

"my focusing on it is not an attempt to pour gasoline on the Red Hat & GNOME vs KDE debates."

I think flaming is lame, but I DO have a gripe! I hear more comments like the one above about KDE v GNOME debates then ACTUAL debates. If everyone stopped making references to these (comparitively) barely existant debates and got on with using/improving/promoting their preferred Desktop it would be so much more productive. I don't drive the same model car as my best mate but we don't argue about which one is best either, why? Because it is a waste of time, life's too short, both cars do the job, each has it's strengths and weaknesses and we both like the models we chose. End of story.

Otherwise I enjoyed the article, thank you.
