Why, you might ask, would anyone want to build their own operating system? It's really about being in control and knowing what's going on.In the next few paragraphs I'll explain what motivated me to take on this project, the recipe I used, and what I like about it.

I use Debian. It's minimal install about 20M. I use it with about 500M (X, KDE, Mozilla, Opera, gcc 2.95,3.0.3.2, development libs, ...). I can't understand why should somebody build a system for this.
And I boot at 20 sec on a 300Celeron ATA33.
Of course if you have lot of free time...
