I've been fasinated by microprocessors for years and have been following the Merced debacle since back in 1994 when HP and Intel announced they were getting together to make some amazing new technology.

For XP to take advatage of the 64 bit part of the chip, yes. To use the 32bit stuff no. I'd imagine you could run 64 bit programs on the 32 bit XP though.
