They Call Me MISTER Buzzkill
I'm setting the flamethrower on 'CRISPY', folks...
Eugenia, after reading your article in full, I found roughly a dozen fundamental spelling errors in it. I know English is a second language for you, but you ARE Editor-in-
Chief at OS News and the writing is not up to your usual ability. I don't have the time to guess what the authors words are. Whether the Chronicle or OS News, clarity is the trademark of good journalism. Today, you get a 'D'.
As for the FreeBSD members interviewed? Their attitudes speak volumes as to why ANY flavor of BSD isn't ruling the desktop. The sense I got was "we code for ourselves and our needs". Their responses were universally a "we don't care" or "we don't want to be cutting edge". Well, that's why we like Linux. It's cutting edge and gives us most of what we want when we want it. I found the reply as to XFree86 and a GUI particularly instructive regarding their collective thinking. Want FreeBSD on the desktop? These guys say "buy a Mac". Great. Very helpful. Thanks a lot.
On the upside, the clickable thumbnails in each section were great and I don't know why this hasn't been done before, with a thumbnail next to the text that the thumbnail is illustrating. Brilliant, Eugenia, brilliant! I hope you include more thumbnails in future articles where appropriate. OS News contributors would do well to copy you.
OK, the flamethrower is back in its case. Time for my Nomex jammies...
