Okay, so they’re patching stuff, now we just need them to patch stuff that people actually use.
Nothing. Microsoft makes the operating system behind the phone if you click on a few links you will get these other stories about the Orange SPV phone which runs microsofts software.

The problem is that these newer phones can download software like games. So there is a possibility that if security is broken rogue programs can get into the phone.
Imagine your phone continually dialing a pay to ring service (1900) type and you footing the bill.
As usual Microsoft is out there innovating at the edge and competing with the phone companies without actually having a security model in place.
Yeah great… patches for Windows, patches for Office, patches for IE… patches patches patches. We don’t need no stinkin’ patches!
Get it right the first time, FFS, especially when it’s embedded like on a phone. With Microsoft’s resources, you’d think they could pony up for better testers.

Just imagining how wealthy I would become when I sue Microsoft.
That case wouldn’t fly because like everything M$ you sign over your rights when you agree to their EULA. Face it when you buy M$ and the shit hits the fan you are at their mercy. You really have no recourse but to what until they acknowledge that there really is a problem which is most likely is a 6-12 months wait. Then you have to wait until they decide to actually get off their asses and patch it which is mostly likely another 1-3 months of waiting.
P.S. Why do you think M$ has not been sued for all it’s security loopholes and backdoors ? Do you know how much money companies have lost due to down time because of some backdoor exploit bring down their entire network ? Ford or Chevy would be in the gutter if they had as much safety and security problems with their cars as M$ has with it’s software.
PPS: Everyone stops reading what you write as soon as they see M$. FYI.

My 4 step method to using phones.
Pick up reciver, check for dial tone, dial, talk. I have never needed a patch, never needed software. some things don’t need to be muddled up. The phone is one of them. I wouldn’t be suprised if Microsoft was listning in on your phone calls.
News.com is misleading when it comes to news about Microsoft. I caught them lying about Microsoft in various times. They usually don’t tell the whole story. For example, in this case the security could be because of a problem unrelated with the operating system. News.com once claimed that Google is including ads as part of the search result, whereas the truth was always google clearly marked banner ads and one can easily separate search results from the ads.
