Elate is foundation upon which the Amiga Digital Environment is being build.

Here`s a well done (over a year old) article by AmigActive in PDF format about the internals of the Amiga Digital Environment: http://www.amigactive.com/pdf/AA09_16-19_DevBox.pdf

Project codenamed "SHEEP"

Fellow Dutchman Wouter van Oortmerssen is busy on a project codenamed SHEEP. This scripting language will serve somewhat the same purpose as ARexx did on classic Amigas. Wouter is truly a genius when it comes to designing programming languages! (and he is pretty good Quaker as well. I don`t stand a chance when he`s around while playing multiplayer Quake online. )

I think you will see good examples of DE software appearing during the
next year. So far, it is mostly small games with short development
times.

Serious programming is likely to start when version 1.1 of the SDK
appears, in a month or two.
